Preventing Outbreak of Fire

Prevention is always better than cure, as they say. It is always better that one tries preventing outbreak of fire. It may not be possible every time for one to prevent outbreak of fire nevertheless, one can always keep the following things in mind. These guidelines are provided by the Fire and Emergency Services, Assam 

 DO’s

• Fire orders should be implemented in the Building with the responsibilities of all the occupants
• Always maintain fire safety equipments in High standard and check them at regular intervals
• Always use well rated electrical appliance and wires etc   
• House Keeping should be good
• Always Keep smoke or fire check doors closed
• Always use ashtrays while smoking
• Always repair or replace faulty electrical appliances
• Welding or cutting jobs should be carried out under strict supervision
• Always keep means of escape clear of obstructions
• Always conduct evacuation drills at regular intervals
• Try to set up emergency organization

Dont's

• Don’t plug many electric appliances in a single socket
• Don’t store LP Gas against Gas cylinders rule
• Don’t dispose off lighted cigarette ends carelessly
• Don’t engage unqualified contractors for the servicing of fire fighting system
• Don’t paint any Fire Detectors/ Sprinkler Heads
