The three-day-long festival was organized under the theme of "Celebrating Oneness". The carnival was organized by the Guwahati Arunachal Students’ Union (GASU) in association with Northeast.
The primary aim of the festival is to bring integrity and unity of the students of northeast India and also to create a mass awareness in the lives and tradition of Arunachal Pradesh by showcasing their vast culture and tradition.
The first edition of the carnival was inaugurated by Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs. The carnival was also attended by the architect of the festival Chombay Kee, Chief Executive Director of Northeast Today along with host of other national media. Thousands of euphoric students and hundreds of people from all over Northeast India visited the carnival. The festival is also a very good platform for the students to exhibit their talents through the various competitions held during the three day carnival.
It is a three day festival during which various cultural programs and completions are conducted. The event is an eye catcher with large number of film enthusiasts, creative people, painters, photographers and talented musicians take part in the festival.
Film festivals are also organized during the festival, where it showcases award winning national and international films which also includes documentaries and short films of Arunachal Pradesh.
Another very interesting part of the carnival is the photo exhibition. All the promising and upcoming photographers can display their work. Professional photographers who can capture Arunachal Pradesh in stills have an excellent opportunity to showcase their talent and also through their photographs they can promote tourism and culture of the state. There is also a section where visitors can also click some pictures wearing Arunachal traditional attire.
Fashion show is another very interesting section of the event. Young and beautiful models, wearing scintillating traditional Arunachali attires designed by local fashion designers walks the ramp.
Other attractions in the festival include ethnic dance show, performance by singing stars of Northeast India and Bollywood artistes and also educational debate on pertinent topics of the state such as judiciary system, tourism and health were organized.
Another major attraction in the carnival is the food zone. The visitors can come down to the food stalls to taste the mouth watering ethnic delicacies of Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from cuisines of Arunachal Pradesh, one can also taste Assamese and Naga cuisines.
