No disrespect to the city but despite being the so called hub of Assam, the postal offices located in most of the parts of the city such as zoo road, maniram Dewan road, paltan bazaar etc, they don't provide courrier service. Even the contact number provided in the website of GPO is wrong. Had to go around the whole city looking for courrier service in the post offices. Poorly managed hence disappointing.

I came to deposit PLI at counter no.7 at Meghdoot Bhavan on Guwahati on 10th February 2018 at 11.45 am and stood queue till 1pm. when I was denied to deposit the PLI by counter employee (girl). As I am a govt employee and find time to deposit PLI only on 2nd / 4th Saturday of each month. Moreover, due to upgradation of your service, other Post office in the Guwahati are not accepting PLI compelling us to deposit at Guwahati post office. It is surprised that only single counter of PLI entertaing the of your post office who deposit numbers of books and consume all the alloted time leaving no space for individual depositors. Also due to link failure I have to wait minimum half an hour. Finally on reaching the counter I requested to accept my individual PLI but employee of counter no.7 stubbournly refused. When asked why didn't you collect the books of the depositors who stood in the queue before the 'stipulated time's she misbehaved saying "you don't have to teach me my duty" .Again I requested her as I am physically handicapped and can't always come, she turned deaf ear and arrogantly replied "you people should be treated like this. During this period the counter no.7 was accepting PLI from a customer who came inside the counter. It can be verified from the computer record. So , I requested you to investigate the matter and give relief to the customers. The following State govt employees also missed behaved the same day. Namely 1. Prasanta Das(pdas31ghy@gmail.com) , 2. Diganta Saikia (digsaikia13@gmail.com), 3. Ranju Choudhury (ranjuchoudhury@gmail.com), 4.Dwijendra Bath Sarma(9859016387). Your action may kindly be intimated.
The employees of main post office, meghdoot bhavan. Ghy 1 are so dismannered.. To day on 28/4/17 they go on strick.. Without any prior notification to public in general. And on asking, one of them (..boy) misbehaved customer ( Me) and one girl employee picked my hand And hurt me in hand... So ask for an proper investigation on this matter.
thanks
